A three-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in a driveway in Te Atatu Peninsula.
Just after 7.30am this morning police were called to a residential address after a 3-year-old girl was hit by a car in a driveway.
Family members attempted first aid, and the child was transported to hospital by ambulance, but died at hospital.
A Police investigation is now underway by CIB staff and the Waitemata Serious Crash Unit.
The car was being driven by a family member, and the child's family are being supported by Police and Victim Support.
"Our thoughts are with the child's family, this is an incredibly sad incident for everyone involved" says Detective Senior Sergeant James Bothamley, Waitakere Police.
No further details of the child are expected to be provided at this stage.
