Bay of Plenty Polytechnic students are gearing up for a world record attempt that will double as lunch at midday today.
Students are aiming to have more than 200 people collectively dip toast into boiled eggs as part of re-orientation campaign.
The students are gathering at Windermere Campus to break the current world record - 178 people simultaneously dipping toast into their boiled eggs in one place.
Hospitality students will be cooking the eggs, donated by Masterton company Henergy, on the day.
Student experience co-ordinator Kirsten Crossan said they had always thought it would be cool to have a go at breaking a world record.
"I jumped online and went through pages and pages of ridiculously stupid records then found this which I thought was achievable but also really fun," she said.
"Students love a free feed."
