The run of gorgeous sunny days is set to end this week with rain on the horizon.
The MetService 10-day forecast shows grey clouds looming over Tauranga today, with the first spot of showers making themselves known tomorrow.
It looks very wet from Saturday onwards as patchy rain on Thursday and Friday gains strength at the weekend.
The warm temperatures are set to remain despite the predictions of rain.
The next week is forecast to hit highs of 26C.
Overnight temperatures will be about 18 to 19C for the next week.
Southeast winds today are expected to swing around to bring humid easterlies from Thursday, turning to the wet northerlies on Sunday and Monday.
The Streets family was soaking in the rays at Mount Maunganui beach yesterday. They travelled over for the day from their farm in Otorohanga. "A day at the Mount is our idea of the perfect day," Ailea Streets said.
