New Zealand's only city-to-city express coach service, is to double services to Tauranga, only four months after starting to serve the Bay of Plenty's premier city.
ManaBus.com chief executive Sheryll Otway said she was greatly impressed by the quick uptake of its services by a strong base of loyal supporters.
"The people of Tauranga have really got behind our fast, friendly and affordable services. We hope that offering more trips to Tauranga at convenient times will make our services even more popular."
From May 1 ManaBus.com will provide two trips to and from Tauranga every day of the year.
Services will depart from Wharf St at 8:10am and 3:25pm, returning at 1:05pm and 9:10pm.
ManaBus.com's express services link Tauranga with Hamilton, Manukau and Auckland CBD.
In addition, one service each way per day will be extended to Whangarei, departing Whangarei at 6.30am and Tauranga at 3.25pm.
Tauranga passenger Natalie Holland said she caught the ManaBus all the time so it was great it was doing a second trip.
"It'll make it way more convenient for people that can't catch the only one that's been currently available."
ManaBus.com will now be able to take more than two thousand passengers per week to and from Tauranga, making value-for-money fares available to even more people. Fares start from $1 plus $1 booking fee, with no hidden fees.
Ms Otway said the second bus service was a "real Tauranga success story".
"The state of the art double-decker coaches that will operate these services were built by Tauranga's Kiwi Bus Builders. Even better, Kiwi are building us five more coaches so that we can expand our services even more later this year."
