The youth who is believed to have repeatedly kicked a 10-week-old lamb at the Oropi School Calf Club has not been found.
Tauranga SPCA animal welfare inspector Jason Blair said it had not received any more information leading to a perpetrator.
"We are still in a position of waiting for additional information for us being able to take matters further," he said.
Oropi School principal Andrew King also said the school had no further information or leads at this stage.
The lamb's 8-year-old owner, Ella, said she saw the incident happen last Friday at the Oropi School Calf Club, just after the lamb, named Crystal, had won the Supreme Award at the event.
Mother Sarah Ensor said she had been contacted by a couple of people who had information about the incident, but the family were disappointed the youth had not been found.
"I just want to get the word out how delicate animals are. It's really upsetting, someone must know something. It's been a week since she died now."
However she said they have revived a lot of support from the community.
Ms Ensor said Ella had been "a bit reserved" since her pet died.
"It brings it all back to her about losing the lamb."
The SPCA are appealing to the public for any information about the incident to be passed onto the Tauranga SPCA by calling: 07-578-0245
