Only 16 days left until Christmas and Tauranga is ramping up the activities to get the community into the festive spirit.
Tauranga's Christmas in the Park is on Sunday after being postponed from Saturday to let the weather clear up.
From 1pm at Blake Park there would be family entertainment and food.
Punters have been asked to bring a gold coin, non-perishable food items and a present to donate to local charities and community groups working with families and children.
The Little Big Markets would be there and a range of food vendors.
Night Owl Cinema would be screening a Christmas classic Miracle on 34th Street (1996) on Saturday night at Blake Park in Mount Maunganui.
Food and entertainment would begin at 6pm and the film would screen as soon as it got dark.
A gold coin donation was appreciated and movie-goers should bring bean bags, chairs, or picnic rugs to sit on. Warm sweaters or blankets were also recommended as even summer nights could get chilly.
Christmas Carols on the Waterfront would be in full swing on Sunday from 6pm.
A free event, Tauranga residents have been invited to gather at the Edgewater Fan on Tauranga waterfront for an old fashioned sing-a-long of Christmas Carols.
For a more professional performance of Christmas carols, the Tauranga Civic Choir would be putting on a concert on Sunday afternoon.
At Tauranga Art Gallery from 2pm the choir of 45 singers would sing 18 carols, some a-cappella.
In a new community event this year Historic Village was putting on The 12 Days of Christmas Festival, staring on Tuesday, December 13.
Starting with a street party on Tuesday there would be Christmas lights, decorations, a grotto, carols, work shops, activity packs, dance-a-thon, puzzle trails and exhibitions at Historic Village.
