Power is out to homes in parts of Western Bay of Plenty as strong winds pummel the region.
More than 60 homes in Otumoetai and 30 in Katikati have lost power.
Powerco said it was trying to find out why the power was out, but it is understood strong winds that have hit the area could be responsible.
Firefighters were called when a large tree blew over and blocked Ngatai Rd for about an hour at 3am.
Senior station officer Mark Keller said the tree was "quite big" and took about an hour to cut up to allow access to the road again.
"It had completely blocked the road," he said.
Trees are reportedly down in 3rd Ave and Otumoetai.
The winds blew a small boat up and onto rocks in the estuary behind Chapel St Mobil.
Its owner was trying to fix it this morning but declined to comment.
