Australia have won the toss and will bat in the final ODI against New Zealand at the Melbourne Cricket Ground today.
Australia are aiming for a clean sweep in the three-game Chappell Hadlee Trophy, after convincing wins in Sydney and Canberra.
New Zealand are without in-form batsman Jimmy Neesham, who was struck on the right forearm by Australian quick Mitchell Starc. The bruising has not gone down sufficiently to have Neesham take his place. Instead his place has gone to specialist batsman Henry Nicholls in for his first game in the series. In the other change fast bowler Lockie Ferguson comes in for the out of sorts Matt Henry in a like for like fast-medium swap.
Australia have opted for an unchanged XI, meaning no place in the series for the colourful Glenn Maxwell.
After a cold, grey morning in Melbourne, the temperature has improved but cloud cover remains. There is the threat of some disruption with weather particularly during the first innings.
A crowd of no more than 20,000 is anticipated, given that the series has already been decided.
The last time New Zealand were at the MCG was for the World Cup final early last year, which Australia won by seven wickets.
