Television New Zealand is investigating a claim cleaners used tea towels from a newsroom kitchen to wipe toilets.
Seven Sharp reporter Heather du Plessis-Allan took to Twitter last week claiming cloths used to dry dishes in the network's Wellington kitchen were also used to clean toilets.
Du Plessis-Allan tweeted: "Sprung our office cleaners using one of our tea towels to clean the toilets. Yum. Can't wait to dry my dishes later."
Plessis-Allan declared:"We won't be drinking from the newsroom glasses at ANY stage."
Approached by the Herald on Sunday, du Plessis-Allan declined to comment, saying she was under instructions not to talk to media.
TVNZ publicist Nicole Wood said the network would be looking into the matter.
Meanwhile, Seven Sharp presenter Greg Boyed was involved in a minor car crash while out to lunch with his daughter yesterday afternoon.
Boyed said he was stuck in traffic in Remuera when he was hit from behind in a "small prang".
"Everyone was fine which was good."
