He's the franchise's biggest star, but it seems Will Smith is set to miss out on another outing as Agent J.
The producers of the Men in Black franchise say Smith will skip Men in Black 4 - but they haven't said why.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald admit they're expecting to make another three Men in Black films.
Parkes said, "We're in the middle of it. It's very active". But when asked if Smith would be involved, the reply was, "Most likely no".
Three films have been made in the comedy sci-fi series that sees Tommy Lee Jones and Smith paired up as secret government agents who tackle infestations of extraterrestrial life forms.
The last film, in 2012, was the most successful Men In Black film yet, a box office juggernaut that raked in US$$624 million (NZ$977m).
Smith is also being cagey about his involvement in the next Bad Boys movie, and won't be returning for an Independence Day sequel.
