Lorde took to the stage at the Brit Awards to perform a tribute to late singer David Bowie.
Her performance was met with a standing ovation as she sang Life On Mars.
The Royals hitmaker performed the tribute alongside Bowie's band and collaborators.
Her surprise appearance came after Bowie was given a posthumous Brit Icon gong, just over a month after his death.
Bowie was paid an emotional tribute first by British singer Annie Lennox, who said the singer was "deeply embedded in the heart of British culture".
"The legend of his extraordinary sound shall be revered for as long as the Earth shall spin," she added.
Bowie's friend, British actor Gary Oldman, then picked up the award on his behalf.
"The world lost an artist of transcendent talent," Oldman said. "He was the very definition, the living embodiment of that singular word: icon."
Bowie's band reunited for a set covering hits such as Let's Dance and Under Pressure before Lorde joined for the grand finale of Life on Mars.
The singer passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer.
David Bowie was one of Lorde's idols, the singer was able to meet the star before he passed away.
About the meeting with Bowie, she said in 2014: "To have someone like that tell you that listening to you felt like listening to tomorrow. I was like... I could creatively die and just be happy forever. I never tell anyone about that experience, because it meant so much to me, and I feel like it would be dulled or something if I always talked about it in magazines or whatever. It's my special thing."
"It was super cute, though-for some reason we were holding hands and just staring into each other's eyes and talking, and I was like, This is David Bowie's hand, what am I doing? It was insane. A beautiful moment."
Fans on Twitter were left "speechless" by her stunning performance:
