The family of a Hawke's Bay woman believed missing are relieved she has returned home "in one piece".
Over the weekend family members of Glenys-Jane Harvey asked people to keep an eye out for the Crownthorpe resident, after she stopped responding to texts, and Facebook messages on Friday.
Daughter Sarah-Jane Weston, who lives in Auckland, said her mother had "turned up" in Napier this morning.
"I'm very relieved to say the least," she said.
Ms Weston had not spoken with her mother yet this morning. However she understood that after receiving "some bad news" on Thursday, and again on Friday, Ms Harvey had gone to spend the day out in rural Hawke's Bay.
When she went to return to Napier, "she skidded off the road in her car".
Although Ms Harvey was unhurt, she was unable to get her Subaru Legacy back onto the road and could not call for help as "she was out in the sticks without any signal".
"I'm just glad she's ok, because it could have been a lot worse," Ms Weston said. "She's in one piece, but is a bit embarrassed by all the fuss."
Ms Weston said she was grateful for the amount of support people had shown their family. She raised the alert over the weekend as her mother had not responded to any calls, texts or Facebook messages since Friday - which was out of character.
On Friday Ms Harvey had told her boss at EIT that she was fine, but unable to come into work.
Ms Weston who usually speaks to her mother once a day spoke to her for about 30 minutes on Friday but from 5pm no one heard another word.
The last message Ms Harvey sent was to Judy saying she was fine.
After no communication since then both family and friends were worried sick.
"Not a single person has heard from her or seen her or her car. Normally if she was coming to stay she would say 'see you soon' or let me know where she was and how she was going but her phone is off."
Mrs Weston said her mother's ex-partner had also been scanning the area but so far had not seen anything.
"He went around to her house and apart from a few photos everything else was still there, like her new bank card so it looks like she could walk back in at any time."
Mrs Weston went to police on Saturday and police have made inquiries with a number of people asking anyone with further information to contact them.
