Fleur Verhoeven's current boyfriend has written a scathing public letter slamming the 2016 Bachelor after Jordan Mauger revealed how he chose the winner.
Last week Mr Mauger told The Spinoff website that he flipped a coin to decide who was going to receive the final rose in 2016, which Richard Wood said in his letter was selfish, disrespectful and humiliating for Ms Verhoeven and others involved.
"And again I see him stating humiliating things which affect more than just one 'girl', in the name of selfishly trying to climb his own ladder again."
"Flipping a coin ... some things are for yourself and not for the public. Again humiliating other people to in turn hopefully help yourself."
Mr Mauger stated that it was not a surprise to the network, the production or the girl what was happening but they had made it out to be.
Mr Wood responded to this in his letter and said "the girl", who was Fleur, was not aware of this.
"I can't help but remind myself of the times he did still decide to encourage girls for overnight stays not only during the filming of the show, but also on a getaway trip for several nights after the main shows [Fleur].
"If these truly were his feelings and had no intent with any contestants, it would suggest to me that again he was thinking of himself only. Selfishly considering far from the damaging repercussions and the spirit of others who might be affected."
Mr Mauger said on The Real Pod he knew it was very likely it wouldn't work out with anybody "but if you sign up to something you see it through".
Mr Wood advised Mr Mauger to move on with his life and put his bitterness to rest after his "spilling stories to the media" lacked respect for others.
"The rest of the contestants from whom I've met, have done, are, living positive lives and are fantastic to be around.
"Also stop and think occasionally how self-centred strategies may affect others that deserve a little more respect."
This latest shock revelation comes following the chaotic aftermath to last year's season when Ms Verhoeven announced she and Mauger had broken up two days after the final aired on New Zealand television.
Mr Mauger said he struggled to interpret his feelings from the show to the real world and knew something was amiss seeing her for the first time on stage at the show's finale.
Mr Wood said Ms Verhoeven, in response, never stepped over the line and acted responsibly, holding up the positive rather than stepping out over other peoples' feet for her own sake.
"I do look forward to Fleur's ring going up for auction, however.
"I hope it does well as she deserves something from having to deal with the bitchiness and tantrums which seem to have gone back and forth for too long."
