It was a busy weekend for Northland emergency services after two women had to be winched in two separate incidents in less than 24 hours.
The first incident happened on Saturday when a 25-year-old woman fell on to rocks at Motutara Point - on the Whananaki coastline near Motutara Farm.
Fire crews, police, ambulance and Northland Rescue Helicopter all went to the scene.
Northland Rescue Helicopter pilot Dean Voelkerling said the position of the woman meant a paramedic had to be winched down to treat her before they were both winched back off the rocks.
The women suffered minor knee and hip injuries.
This was not the only job requiring a winch over the weekend.
Mr Voelkerling said a woman who suffered burns had to be winched from the Peach Cove Hut, Whangarei Heads about 8am yesterday.
The woman suffered minor burns to her leg after a camping billy spillage. She was transported to Whangarei Hospital.
