Watch NZH Focus: Giraffe on the move

Auckland Zoo's young male giraffe Mtundu is about to set sail for a new life at Mogo Zoo in southern New South Wales in Australia. The 15-month-old began his trip at midday travelling in a purpose-built crate through central Auckland before being lifted on to a container ship at the port. Tristram Clayton was there at the zoo as Mtundu set off on his four day trip and spoke to Pridelands Team Leader Nat Sullivan about how the youngster would cope with his big O.E.
