A man who died after being flung from a vehicle in a crash near Ohakea early on Saturday morning has been named.
He was Carl Amey, 23, of Rongotea.
Police said the man lost control of his vehicle while rounding a right-hand bend on Tangimoana Rd near Ohakea at about 2.40am. He was not wearing a seat belt.
He was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the accident.
Police reminded road users to take regular breaks while travelling over the long weekend, and to always wear seat belts.
