A moa revival group, geisha girls, a cat jungle gym and tickets to the Rugby World Cup are all included in MPs' financial disclosures for the year.
This year's Register of Pecuniary Interest shows Prime Minister John Key has sold the London apartment he has owned since before he became an MP, and that his gifts included several helicopter rides to play golf with rich listers Trevor Farmer and Gary Dean.
Labour leader Andrew Little's entry lists only his family home, a KiwiSaver account and a separate superannuation scheme at AXA, as well as a mortgage. His gifts included nine tickets to the Cricket World Cup in 2015, two tickets to All Blacks Wallabies rugby tests and tickets to the Rugby World Cup final, as well as a skydive.
Of the 121 MPs, 75 have more than one property. Of those, seven listed a family home and an apartment in Wellington only, while the remainder included a mix of rental properties, commercial investment properties, baches, and empty land.
Ten MPs did not declare any property at all, including Act leader David Seymour and Green Party co-leader James Shaw, as well as younger MPs such as Todd Barclay and Paul Foster-Bell.
The register reveals Labour MP Trevor Mallard is continuing to champion his cause to use genetic sequencing to return the moa from extinction. MPs must disclose involvement with any group which is seeking Government funding and Mr Mallard's lists the Moa Revival Project Advisory Board.
Labour MP Jenny Salesa had the most international range of shareholdings. Having lived in the United States prior to returning to New Zealand, she listed interests in Apple, Google, National Oilwell Varco and General Electric.
National's backbench MP Paul Foster-Bell had the most interesting line-up of gifts -- including whiskey from Taiwan, tickets to the opera, Her Majesty's Government cufflinks, a Fitbit and a painting of geisha girls. Minister Nikki Kaye declared a cat jungle gym among her gifts while National MP Melissa Lee's included a karaoke machine from the ambassador for the Philippines.
Judith Collins revealed she has been hosted by Sky City on four occasions -- the Anzac Rugby League test, the Bledisloe Cup, a Jimmy Choo evening, and to a New Year's Eve function. Labour MP Trevor Mallard also mistakenly declared match tickets and hospitality from Sky City -- but later said it was actually Sky Television which hosted him at the Halberg Awards. Labour MPs have been criticised in the past for taking hospitality from Sky City because of the opposition to the convention centre.
Labour's Jacinda Ardern declared tickets to Oprah as well as the Nines. Kris Faafoi declared tickets to the Elton John concert and Marama Fox declared she was given a koha for speaking at Te Wananga O Aotearoa.
