Police have today arrested two men for an aggravated robbery of a dairy which left the owner with knife wounds to his back and neck.
The incident took place in Porirua on August 6 and left the dairy owner shaken, police said.
Both arrested men appeared in Porirua District Court today.
A 15-year-old boy was also spoken to as part of the investigation and has been referred to Youth Aid.
Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Ferguson said the level of violence handed out by the offenders was extreme and a cause of concern for police.
"We were determined to identify those responsible, hold them to account and protect the community from them."
Ferguson also acknowledged the efforts from some "very brave individuals" within the community that came forward to assist the police.
"It's fantastic when the community and Police are able to work in partnership to solve and prevent crimes from reoccurring."
