A woman was flown to hospital after collapsing in an Auckland volcanic cone crater.
Just before 1pm yesterday the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Mangere Mountain for a female patient.
A spokeswoman said she had collapsed in the crater, possibly due to fatigue.
Intensive care flight paramedic, Casey Drum, was winched down to the woman and she was lifted from the crater using an air rescue vest.

She was was then left in the care of St John ambulance, as she was in a moderate condition.
Mangere Mountain in Mangere Domain is one of the largest volcanic cones in the Auckland volcanic field. Its peak is 106m above sea level.
The field has 53 volcanoes.
