A man has been arrested and charged with murder after the body of a man was found at a house in South Auckland on Saturday night.
Police today named the victim as 40-year-old Jima Shemaon Zaya, of Papatoetoe.
Zaya was found dead at an address on Carruth Rd, in Papatoetoe, about 7pm on Saturday.
Police deemed the death suspicious and launched a homicide investigation.
The man in police custody, also 40, will appear in the Manukau District Court today charged with murder.
Police say inquiries are continuing into Zaya's death and officers are wanting to speak to two men who are said to have been at the house when Zaya was assaulted.
They were possibly in a red sedan vehicle, a statement said.
