Rotorua rugby fans can get among the top level action tonight with a rare but welcome Super 15 home match.
The Chiefs, featuring Rotorua Boys' High School old boy Liam Messam and Reporoa College old boy Sam Cane, take on the Bulls at the Rotorua International Stadium tonight.
It's the first Super game to hit Rotorua in many years.
The stadium hosted a pre-season match last year but it's had a long absence from competitive matches.
"Hopefully people are really keen to come along and watch Sonny Bill [Williams] and a few other names play and we can get a good crowd behind us," Chiefs coach Dave Rennie said when the match venue was announced.
"We are certainly keen to be playing in the Bay of Plenty. Rotorua is a great stadium, outstanding field, and we are really looking forward to playing there."
Chiefs players visited Rotorua a couple of weeks ago to drum up some extra support and they'll be hoping a good crowd gives them a boost.
The curtain raiser is the Chiefs Cup final.
It will be contested between Rotorua Boys' High School and Wesley College.
That match kicks off at 4.40pm. Gates open at 4.30pm and people are encouraged to get there early to avoid queues.
