Residents and ratepayers are being asked for their thoughts on Rotorua's rubbish and recycling collection services in an online survey.
Following the recent decision-making process over its 2015-2025 Long-term Plan, Rotorua Lakes Council has decided to consult further with the community on what the future of refuse collection in the district should look like, especially in lakes and rural areas.
Wheelie bins and kerbside collection are being considered for urban areas, but public submissions received during the long-term plan process indicated that such a strategy might not be as popular in rural communities.
As well as the online survey, the council is running meetings in communities including Mamaku, Reporoa and Okareka to canvass opinion in the local areas.
The survey asks for responses to a number of simple multiple choice questions on this review of the district's waste strategy.
The survey is now open and can be accessed on the council's website until 16 August.
