Roadworks and the annual reseal programs are underway in the region and motorists should expect delays.
The road between Te Teko and Awakeri on State Highway 30 is being widened and flexible safety barriers are being installed. Stop/go signs may be used but delays should not exceed five minutes.
There could be delays of between 5-10 minutes on State Highway 2 from Taneatua to east of Opotiki between Monday December 12 and Wednesday December 14 as resealing takes place.
There will be stop/go in place and the work is weather dependant.
The New Zealand Transport Agency asked motorists to be aware of large machinery and workers and keep to the temporary speed limits which are usually around 30km/h.
This is important for safety and to ensure the stone chips bed-in well instead of flicking up on other vehicles.
Work is also continuing on different sections of the highway from north and south of Te Puke town centre. The work involves widening and curbing of the road.
At the Ohineangaanga Stream Bridge there will be resurfacing on Sunday and Monday night.
People can expect delays.
