Wee bit of help
A local wing of Austria's Green Party has announced it is holding a special meeting to teach women how to urinate standing up in unclean public bathrooms. The Green Party in Perchtoldsdorf, Lower Austria, which periodically holds "women's breakfasts" to discuss social and political issues, said the theme of the coming Saturday's meeting would be "everything that concerns the pelvic base". The party said the discussion would include instructions on how to urinate from a standing position at music festivals, sporting events, and other locations where unclean restrooms are likely to be found. The participants at the meeting will be instructed on how to build simple devices to assist with standing urination, organisers said. (Source: UPI.com)
Pence problem
Same name as a celebrity? Mike Pence, 49, of Sarasota, has shared his experience with broadly.vice.com: "I'm a software developer, writer, and speaker. Recent marathoner and grandpa. Not a Christo-fascist politician. My bank teller recently laughed out loud at my name, confiding that as a school principal in Indiana, she had personally seen Pence's largesse as he delivered winter coats to needy children. He is actually a nice guy in person, she assured me, which left me wondering what kind of person helps the needy in the morning and throws their rights out in the cold in the afternoon, in the name of Jesus."
Transport hot potato
"We bought our first house in Mt Wellington in 1986, and lived there for seven years," writes Dave. "During that time, our traffic enforcement was handled by five successive agencies: Ministry of Transport, Tamaki Borough Council, Tamaki City Council, Auckland City Council and NZ Police."
Good read:
The Illustrated Police News hit the street corners of London back in 1864 as publishers thought "readers" would rather look at pictures of the crimes that were being committed from Manchester to Birmingham, rather than actually "read" about them. Sounds all to familiar doesn't it?
