The international rugby world is rounding on Owen Franks despite the All Blacks prop being cleared of eye-gouging allegations in the Bledisloe Cup return encounter in Wellington.
Leading rugby players and journalists lined up Franks on social media after he was cleared by SANZAAR over any wrong doing in an incident with Wallaby Kane Douglas.
But that hasn't washed in the court of public opinion which delivered a damning verdict against Franks.
Sydney's Daily Telegraph even went as far as labelling him an "All Blacks grub" in the intro to its report.
SANZAAR officials declined to cite Franks despite footage showing him smothering Douglas' face with his hand.
The action has prompted accusations of a deliberate eye gouge by some rugby commentators following New Zealand's 29-9 Bledisloe Cup-sealing victory.
The decision means Franks is available to play against Argentina in Hamilton on Saturday week - a fact that was met with some outrage around the rugby world.
