St Mary's Diocesan School student Bree-Anna Langton was announced as Dux at the school prizegiving last Wednesday.
Bree-Anna says she was surprised and excited to be named the School Dux for 2014. "I have worked really hard this year so it is incredible to see it was all so worth it".
Bree-Anna led the school this year as head girl, says principal Fiona Green. She adds Bree-Anna also took on several other leadership roles in the school including student Board of Trustees representative, head chorister in the school choir and captain of the senior A basketball team.
Fiona says that Bree-Anna also achieved a lot academically this year including gaining her Speech New Zealand Associate Diploma of Performance.
Bree-Anna says: "I really loved my final year at St Mary's and am excited about heading off to university next year."
She will be studying towards a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Otago.
Fellow senior student Paige Garner was named as the school's Proxime Accessit on Wednesday afternoon.
Fiona says: "Paige also has successfully undertaken the leadership roles within the school including head librarian and academic captain".
Paige says she is looking forward to her next year in Wellington where she is going to study towards a Bachelor of Arts at Victoria University.
