Bill Reader is sharing this picture, taken sometime in the 1930s, with our readers, saying he is curious to know if anyone has seen a boar in recent times as big as the one pictured.
"My brother Bob, he was always up for a challenge. So when his mate, Clive said to him that he bet he couldn't carrry this boar, Bob says to him, you put it on the ledge and I will back into it. So he did, and lifted it right onto his back. I reckon that is 400lbs (181.4kg) of boar he is carrying, at a rough guess."
Bill says he remembers that once the photo was taken, Bob couldn't take a step forward, so heavy was the load on his shoulders.
