The stables are full at this years Stratford A&P Show equestrian events, and horse chairman Glenda Schumacher says the show is going to be bigger and better than ever.
The equestrian events have been a part of Stratford's A&P Show since the beginning, and Glenda says it has always been a popular event, with competitors travelling from all over the North Island.
"The Stratford A&P Show is popular for horse riders as we don't just cater to certain riders. All classes and skill levels get a chance to compete."
Glenda says the equestrian events run over Friday, Saturday and Sunday to ensure that all events can be completed. "We run all day everyday so there is always something to come and watch, even if you aren't a horse rider. It is great entertainment."
Glenda says the equestrian events are run by a dedicated group of volunteers from various pony clubs and adult riding clubs in the area. "It is a big job getting everything organised."
Glenda adds that the Stratford A&P Show is also a great place for meeting people if you are looking to get involved in horse riding. "Because of the range of events on offer, there are so many people available to talk to from different clubs."
Whether you are a fan of horse riding, or looking for a nice place to enjoy your lunch with live entertainment, don't miss the equestrian events at this weekend's Stratford A&P Show.
Equestrian events will be run Friday, November 27 from 8.30am, Saturday, November 28 from 8.30am and Sunday, November 29 from 8am. For more information check out www.stratfordshow.co.nz
