Winner of Comedienne of the Decade at the 2010 NZ Comedy Awards, Michele A'Court is a stand-up comedian and writer who has been on our TV screens since 1987.
She talks a lot - sometimes on radio and TV, sometimes in pubs and clubs, and writes a weekly column on social issues.
Michele is also in demand as a corporate MC and entertainer, an actor, voice artist and freelance feature writer.
Michele has one child, Holly, born in 1993 - and didn't have any more because she was so spectacular, any subsequent children would have been a disappointment. Liberated from the daily grind after her daughter left home, Michele suddenly found the time she'd never had as a parent - to think about being a parent. Mostly, she spent the time wondering if she'd told her daughter everything she needed to know, such as how to store ginger, calculate GST, stop your tights from snagging, the meaning of feminism ... that sort of thing!
Stuff I Forgot To Tell My Daughter is the result of these musings and deals with all the big (and small) issues we forget to tell our kids. It's a must-see for people who have had children, those who might have children and those who have been children - as it's full of hilarious lessons for us all. A'Court's performance is a great combination of comedy, true life and, accompanied by her book, it's an accessible show that both women and men will enjoy.
One of the hits of last year's Taranaki International Arts Festival, Stuff I Forgot to Tell My Daughter had sell-out shows in both the Spiegeltent and Libri Lounge. Thanks to Arts on Tour New Zealand, Michele A'Court is touring regional New Zealand during March and April 2016. This has resulted in the opportunity for the TSB Showplace to schedule a return performance, much to the delight of those who missed out in August 2015!
Stuff I Forgot to Tell My Daughter is on Wednesday, March 23, at 8.00pm at the TSB Showplace. Theatre seats are priced at $25.00, table seats $30.00 and a table of eight is $200.00. Service fees apply.
Tickets are available from the TSB Showplace Box Office or Ticketmaster 0800 111 999, www.ticketmaster.co.nz
