It's getting harder and harder to find a local event to enjoy with the whole family - and one that won't break the bank! Luckily, Northland Field Days is not only organised, managed and staffed by volunteers, but the community-focused event has also kept costs realistic to encourage more Northland families to attend.
Beginning life as a simple agricultural expo, the Northland Field Days are now celebrating their 32nd year - and while the popular event has grown both in size and scope, their focus on the local community hasn't changed at all.
Widely recognised as Northland's largest annual agricultural event, the Northland Field Days continue to champion all things farming and agricultural: from sawmill demonstrations through to the latest innovations in fencing and agriculture, Lifestyle and Market exhibitors under the Lifestyle Pavilion marquees and even a specific area for market-type products - the Northland Field Days caters to almost every need!
Do you have a larger family? 2017 promises an even stronger family focus than usual, with the 2-adult, 3-child Family Day Pass on sale for only $30, and children under 5 attending for free.
Organisers have deliberately set ticket prices at a more affordable price point this year, in a bid to make the Northland Field Days more accessible to all, with Adult Day Pass tickets priced at $12, and single Child Day Pass tickets at a wallet-friendly $5 each.
In addition to offering plenty of entertainment for the kids, including bouncy castles and fairground rides, the Dargaville Fire Brigade will also be running a free children's mini combat challenge.
It's not often families are able to enjoy such an affordable local day out: many of the attractions for children are free, and there will be numerous delicious food and drink options onsite with plenty of seating areas available to sit, relax, and soak in the atmosphere.
As a community-focused and volunteer-led project, the Northland Field Days provide an affordable, entertaining, informative and uniquely kiwi family day out to be enjoyed by all.
Gather your friends and family, bring your hats and your sunblock, and come along to the biggest family-friendly agricultural event in Northland. We'll see you there!
