What was your greatest holiday? I've been fortunate enough to have travelled the world, but the place I enjoy and relax the most is just 60 minutes out of Auckland at Whangateau, where we have a family beach house.
And the worst? I had a bad experience in Paris when a mother and her young child tried to steal a wallet from my friend who was walking in front of me. If I hadn't been aware of what was going on, my friend would have had her belongings stolen.
If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing? Eating - I love my food. When I'm not eating you will find me sleeping, hiking or doing exercise (to work off all that food).
If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a holiday, where would it be? Whangateau, because it's peaceful and beautiful.
How about for a dream holiday internationally? I've got a young family, so my dream holiday would be at a resort in the South Pacific somewhere.
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling? When I was in Africa for a friend's wedding I was jet skiing in an enclosed lagoon. My "so-called" friends took advantage of the fact I was a newbie to my surroundings and decided to have some fun with me, so when I came off the jet ski they started yelling "crocodile!" I was silly enough to believe there was an actual crocodile in the water. I am a testament to the fact that a man can walk on water.
Complete this sentence: I can't travel without ... My old school music jams, which keep me sane.
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given? Just be mindful of what is happening around you and try to blend in.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling? Hmm, you can't visit Paris without sampling the snails, and while I wasn't totally keen on it I knew it had to be done. It took me a good five minutes staring at the plate before I could throw one down the hatch.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip? A Michael Jackson T-shirt from one of his concerts in Sydney.
Favourite airport to land at (other than 'home')? Gold Coast, as it's always warm, sunny, and a home away from home.
What's the next trip you've got planned?
I'd love to take my family to Fiji.
