Director Leanne Pooley is a fan of holiday house-swaps and wants to see India.
What was your greatest holiday?
Last Christmas, my husband, two teenage daughters and I did a six-week house swap with a lovely woman from London. She had our house and car, we had hers. Christmas in London was beautiful and we managed short trips to Europe and Scotland. Couldn't have been better and I'd highly recommend house swapping!
If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing?
If I'm on a Kiwi beach holiday: not a lot, reading, scrabble, cards; chilling is the thing. If I'm abroad: I enjoy seeing "the sites" and I'm not afraid to be a tourist.
If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be?
This is insanely difficult because there are so many options ... but if I had to choose I might say Maitai Bay.
How about for a dream holiday internationally?
A friend travelled along the Ganges in a houseboat, experiencing India without traffic ... that's on my list as I've not been to India.
Aisle seat or window seat?
Aisle (I'm tall).
Complete this sentence: I can't travel without ...
... my podcasts. I listen to audio docs and stories to fall asleep; on planes, in hotels, wherever.
What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
That while it's a long flight to anywhere from New Zealand, it's still just a day in your life.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling?
While hitch-hiking in Greece I was picked up by a chap who invited me to come to his house as he was having a party. Being an innocent young thing, I said "sure". The party was a family reunion and there was a mountain of the most amazing Greek food, dancing and music. A truly incredible night!
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
My husband (we met on a kibbutz in Israel 33 years ago).
What's the next trip you've got planned?
Canada, in August. My family has a cottage on a lake, it's a gorgeous place, and also ... home.
