Restless children and long-haul flights are rarely a formula for success.
In fact, for most airline passengers, the sound of a screaming child is enough to turn the friendly skies into a hive of hostility.
So, the invention of a device which could placate the nation's little darlings might just be a game-changer for everyone involved, the Daily Mail reports.
The Fly LegsUp is a simple contraption which, at just $85, instantly transforms an economy seat into a handy hammock.
The Australian-based invention is used by hooking onto the passenger's fold-down tray, then extended to create the effect of a lie-flat bed.
Washable and weighing less than 500g - making it perfect carry-on luggage - it also doubles as a safety net for the child's toy collection, which frequently finds itself lost between the aisles.
The package, which can also serve adults as a leg rest, comes with a large inflatable pillow, two smaller cushions and a travel bag.
One happy customer, called Brionee, detailed her surprisingly pleasant experience with the device after flying from Australia to the United Arab Emirates.
"I recently did a trip from Sydney to Abu Dhabi with my 14mth old son Freddy," she said on the site's official product page.
"I honestly thought it would be the most horrid flight ever - how wrong I was. The kids Fly LegsUp saved my life. It's such an awesome product and works amazingly to create a cot flat/but comfy feel.
"Freddy slept most of the way, then played with his cars for the remainder of the flight in it. Thanks guys. Here is gorgeous Freddy - loving his big boy seat/bed. Seriously best product ever!"
