WAIRARAPA MP Alastair Scott has branded a Masterton CBD building on Perry Street with National Party signage, marking his new office location.
Mr Scott's new office on 14 Perry Street, which he shares with the Wairarapa Chamber of Commerce, is set to encourage more public engagement with their MP.
His previous Masterton Office had been inside the Community Centre, which, due to his ad hoc tenancy there, had never had exterior signage.
Not having signage outside his Masterton Office, Mr Scott said, has "been a problem for [him] and for the people".
"Before, people didn't know where the Masterton Office was," he said.
Mr Scott said the new office location will help people to engage with him and the National Party.
"I was always wanting signage. I 've got signage in Dannevirke, I've got signage in Waipukurau, and obviously signage is important because people need to know how to get a hold of you and know where the office is.
"The model is still the same. I'm sub-leasing a little room in that office which is way, way cheaper than having a full office facility.
"And so if someone comes in off the street, they can take a business card. Belinda is there from the Chamber of Commerce five days a week and that's the idea. I'll be there whenever people want me to be there."
