This was no ordinary haircut ...
Tiffany Wagstaff wanted to highlight strength in women while raising money for the Cancer Society's Relay For Life event when she had her 7-year-old locks chopped this week.
The Wanganui woman said going to Curves gym over the past few years and becoming a mother had helped make her a stronger person.
And cutting her hair for charity had been something she had wanted to do for a while.
"Sometimes you find strength in funny places ... like a good hair day."
Tiffany's hair will be made into a wig for cancer patients while the cut raised $1000.
As she is not taking part in Relay For Life herself, she has donated the $1000 to the River City Rollers team which is participating at this weekend's relay at Cooks Gardens.
