A Whanganui man has pleaded guilty to possessing a "not insignificant" amount of drugs.
Barry Dwayne Petch pleaded guilty in Whanganui District Court on March 28 to possessing cannabis seed, possessing cannabis plant and possessing utensils for using methamphetamine.
He has two similar convictions, lawyer Harete Hipango said.
Petch was sentenced to 120 hours of community work and 12 months of supervision.
Cleaner and student Terianne Edmonds pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis, possessing drug utensils and possessing cannabis.
A search warrant at her house found two cannabis plants 1m high in her back yard, and "tinnies" in her bedroom. She said the drug was for her use, in coping with the pain of an injury.
Edmonds had no previous drug matters on her record and was sentenced to 80 hours' community work and six months' supervision.
Also charged with drug offences was Angus Alistaire Graeme Mars. He is charged with possessing methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine utensils and possessing a needle and syringe.
He has pleaded guilty to the first, and not guilty to the other charges. Ms Hipango said he had a very small amount of methamphetamine in his possession.
His next court appearance is on April 4.
