An "extremely bad piece of driving" in March while on bail has stacked another three months on top of Mathew Lawler's prison sentence.
He pleaded guilty to charges of driving with excess breath alcohol, driving dangerously and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle in Whanganui District Court on May 16.
Lawler took a vehicle from a driveway without asking the owner. He wanted to show his girlfriend around, his lawyer Richard Leith said.
He drove at 110kph in a 50kph zone, lost control, look out a light pole, hit a fence and wrote off the vehicle. His girlfriend was taken to Tokoroa Hospital, but found to be uninjured.
The driving was outside his licence conditions, and he was found to have 537mcg of alcohol on his breath - the legal limit for adults is 250mcg.
His lawyer Richard Leith said Lawler had no previous driving offences and accepted he needs to make reparation for the vehicle.
Whanganui District Court Judge Philip Crayton disqualified Lawler from driving for six months, and added three months to his existing prison sentence.
Forestry worker Hamish Wayne Pointon pleaded guilty to one charge of driving while disqualified, and told police he had just wanted to visit his girlfriend.
He was disqualified for a further six months, starting on August 17. He was also fined $800.
Ryan Whare Woodford pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, giving police false details and unlawfully taking a bicycle - now returned. He is to be sentenced on July 12.
Riley Sherridan Sarah Allen faced two driving related charges. He pleaded not guilty to one of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, and guilty to one of driving carelessly.
His case will be reviewed on June 27.
